Adult Education

UPCOMING EVENTS:

MEN'S / WOMEN'S SEDER

There are certain experiences that only men can share. There are specific expectations that only men have. There are certain challenges that only men face, and there are certain things that can only be understood by men. Men need the company of men, to be men.

Substitute "women" for "men" and this is just as true a statement.

Join us in the social hall for gender specific seders. The Men's seder will follow the Men of reform Judaism's Men's Seder Haggadah, and the omen will use a modified version of Sisterhood's Women's Seder Haggadah from 2015. The seders will not include dinner; however, we will gather as one group for dessert.

A TWO-DAY PROGRAM:

For Yom HaShoah: Holocaust Remembrance Day, join us on two different days to honor and remember Aristides de Sousa Mendes, the Portuguese consul stationed in Bordeaux, France during World War II. The programs are free, and open to the public.

On Saturday, April 22, 7:00PM - 9:00PM in the Social Hall, we will view the screening of Disobedience: The Sousa Mendes Story.

On Monday, April 24, 7:00PM - 9:00PM, we will join in the Sanctuary for a Community Yom HaShoah program, sponsored by JCAL. Our guest speaker for the evening is Monique Rubens Krohn, whose mother's family received visas from de Sousa Mendes, allowing them to escape the Nazis.
