Junior Youth Group
While our religious school program is innovative and exciting, there is even more available to our young people as they reach the middle school years. Our Junior Youth Group offers our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students opportunities for fun and socializing, winter retreats at Camp Harlam, group Mitzvah projects, and informal learning while they also develop strong friendships with their classmates and middle school peers.
It also provides a Jewish peer group for our children who are many times the only Jewish kids in their class during their secular education. Junior Youth Group also serves as a glimpse into SSTY, our youth group that is made up of high school students. JYG participants get to experience similar activities to those of SSTY, as well as being invited to a SSTY event at the end of their 8th grade year. It provides a strong link for many of our students to stay involved in Jewish life.
Junior Youth Group is led by Holli Winick Viau, with the help of a group of involved parents. Activities have and may include: indoor swimming, indoor rock climbing, movie nights, game nights, local performances, bowling, and many more!
The highlight of our year is a weekend retreat at Camp Harlam
