IN THE SPOTLIGHT...

CWS of LANCASTER IS OUR TIKKUN OLAM PARTNER OF THE MONTH

We are proud to be working with the Church World Service (CWS) of Lancaster who serve the refugee and immigrant communities of Central Pennsylvania. There are approximately 400 individuals who come to Central PA each year that are in need of a home and support to build a strong future in the area. CWS of Lancaster will help these individuals throughout this important adjustment period.

Please, join us in our efforts to help our local community by supporting CWS of Lancaster. In addition to monetary donations, they are currently in need of fans, kitchen and bath towels, and silverware, to be used by local refugees.

CURRENT TEMPLE FAMILY PROJECTS:

JOIN MISSY DePIETRO IN THE FIGHT TO END ALZHEIMER'S

I'm participating in my 14th Walk to End Alzheimer's® on September 23. I am committed to raising awareness and funds in the fight against the nation’s 6th leading cause of death. The end of Alzheimer's starts with me — but I can’t do it alone…

Please help me reach my goal by clicking here to make a tax-deductible donation on my personal page. Donations benefit the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association locally and each donation makes a difference in this fight!

Take it a step further! Join me in the fight against Alzheimer's by walking with me. You can register by clicking here and then clicking Join My Team

I'd be so grateful if you would join and/or sponsor me. Together, we can end Alzheimer's!

JOIN MIA RIBICH & SPREAD THE JOY OF DANCING

Give young women in Harlem, New York, the opportunity to express themselves through dance by donating gently used ballet, tap, and jazz shoes, to our Mitzvah Closet. Your shoes will used by the young women who participate in the free dance program, Groove With Me, Inc.

Although all ballet and tap shoes are welcome, there is a heavier need for those that are larger-sized.

For additional questions, please contact Mia Ribich at miaribich@gmail.com. Mia will be celebrating her Bat Mitzvah on September 9, 2017.

MITZVAH CLOSET:

DONATE. DONATE. DONATE.

There are a lot of different ways you can help support your local community! Start by exploring the opportunities available in our Mitzvah Closet. A simple donation from you could bring cheer to the homeless, the elderly, and the local refugees.

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE:

MITZVAH DAY ALL YEAR

We have developed a contact directory of the local organizations we used for Mitzvah Day projects for your consideration of extended community service. Each of these agencies welcomes volunteer help throughout the year. We encourage you to take advantage of the spirit of Mitzvah Day and do good deeds throughout the year. Contact Bob Houghton at la6756@gmail.com with questions.

LAPTOP COMPUTERS NEEDED

New or used laptops, no more than 3 years old, are needed for use in our religious program, Sh'arim. Please contact Rabbi Paskoff at jpaskoff@shaarai.org if you are able to donate a computer.
