Rabbi Lawrence A. Hoffman was ordained in 1969 received his doctorate in 1973, and is now a professor emeritus at the Hebrew Union College, where he served for nearly 50 years. Known for his popular lectures and spiritual approach to synagogue consultation, he has authored or edited 49 books, including the award-winning My People's Prayer Book. Hoffman has also taught at prestigious institutions such as the University of Notre Dame, Yale Divinity School, and the Jewish Theological Seminary.
